An Educator’s Story

Extended Bio Jason E. Stone

Destined to be an educational leader, Dr. Jason Stone is known for his natural ability to explain abstract concepts in engaging, interesting, and thought-provoking ways. Jason's natural curiosity and compassionate leadership ignites innovation, creates efficiency, and elevates performance in every organization he has led.

Dr. Stone is a fifth-generation Oklahoman who enjoys walking, reading, writing, playing chess, listening to music, gardening, grilling, traveling, and playing the guitar.

Service

Dr. Stone is or has been active with:
* OSU-OKC faculty senate, serving as a Senator and Chair of the Academic Policy and Student Affairs Committee
* American Association of University Professors, OSU-OKC chapter, serving as President
* The Oklahoma Association of Developmental Education, serving as President and later webmaster
* Greater Oklahoma City YMCA, serving as a youth sports coach
* Oklahoma Blood Institute, donating over three gallons of whole blood.

*Kamm Fellow, 2015, a scholarship awarded to the most promising graduate student in the OSU - Stillwater College of Education, Health, and Aviation.
*Finalist for the Oklahoma Medal of Excellence in Teaching and Administration in 2013 and 2012 from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.
*Bronze & Blue Award Winner, 2006, University of Central Oklahoma, nominated by a colleague as an employee who is making a difference at UCO.

Private Sector Experience
Dr. Stone also has experience in the private sector, where he consulted with unions, academic organizations, non-profits, and political candidates. In addition to various consulting engagements, Mr. Stone also has experience in due diligence research, commercial real estate acquisition, and technical writing.

Dr. Stone has produced technical writings for Column Financial, First Union Bank, Paine Webber, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, GE, Capital Real Estate, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase Bank, UBS, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, GMAC Commercial Mortgage, Wells Fargo, Trammell & Crow, Greenberg Traurig and many other Fortune 500 Companies and respected Law Firms.

Education:
Dr. Stone earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Oklahoma State University in April of 2020. Dr. Stone also earned a post-master’s certificate from the Oklahoma State Univerity in online education at graduation. Dr. Stone is a certified Training and Development Specialist through the Association for Talent Development and the University of Oklahoma Outreach. Dr. Stone is also a certified Blended Learning Specialist through Educause and the University of Central Florida Outreach.

Dr. Stone earned a Master’s degree from Ball State University in Communication Liberal Arts Studies where he received a teaching and debate coaching assistantships. Dr. Stone received a Bachelor’s in Arts in Speech/Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University where he was Captain of the debate team, an All-American debater, and a recipient of the President’s Excellence Scholarship. During his time as a competitive debater and public speaker, Dr. Stone won over 200 individual and team awards.
